Our educational theatre programs are designed to help students develop their creative and critical thinking skills. Through a wide range or programs, Porch Light offers something for all backgrounds and experience levels including studio classes, performance-based programs, private lessons, workshops, in-school programs, our award-winning Youth Performance Troupe (YPT) and more.

Porch Light Summer Stage offers opportunities for young artists to build performing arts skills in a fun and creative space! Our summer stage programs are for all experience levels and are focused on building self-confidence, teamwork and each student's passion for performing.

Porch Light's studio program includes technique-based training in various areas of the performing arts for beginner to advanced students. Our unique training methods focus on building characters - creating confident and creative performers and young artists. The Studio features small classes sizes and focused attention, giving students the opportunity to grow in a fun, challenging environment.

Love to perform? Porch Light's Academy programs offer students an amazing opportunity to build skills in acting, voice and dance in preparation for a fully-staged musical performed on our stage. Our unique method of integrating performing arts training through rehearsals maximizes skill building for all students involved in the production. Enrollment is limited to encourage focused attention on each student's growth, so don't wait to register - programs fill up quickly. All registered students are cast in the production!
Grades 4-8 only. Audition required.
YPT is an award-winning triple threat program developed by Porch Light Studio in 2009. Members of this one-of-a-kind company are selected by an audition process and receive advanced training in acting, voice & dance under the direction of musical theatre professionals. YPT members also participate in various performance opportunities throughout the season, including original and scripted musical productions, competitions, public appearances and Industry Showcases in NYC and NJ. YPT is a year-long commitment (late August - mid-June) and designed for students with a passion for theatre and performance and interested in a more focused training program.

At Porch Light, our goal is to make our young artists more confident performers by focusing on materials that reflect their personality, setting achievable goals, and inspiring them to take the next step in their creative path. Our private lessons allow students to embrace their talents and overcome challenges in a supportive environment and learning at their own pace. Together, we'll create a customized lesson plan that allows for maximum growth potential and provide encouraging feedback.
For over 10 years, Porch Light has been partnerning with area schools to provide quality performing arts education throughout Bergen, Essex and the surrounding counties. Our unique approach to theatre education offers students of all experience levels the opportunity to gain confidence and improve social skills while learning the fundamentals of acting, singing and dance.
Celebrate your child's special day with Porch Light! Let your child have a blast with friends while you relax and let us do the entertaining! Our theatre-themed parties include games and activities your rising star will love! Children work with our theatre educators on a variety of fun and character-building theatre games and activities. Activities are catered to the age level of your child and his or her guests.
Our theatre camps and workshops are a great way to try out our programs, build positive social interactions and enhance skills in a specific area. Mini-camps are scheduled periodically through the season during many school breaks. Workshops are offered as both scheduled special projects or private events for your Girl Scout, Boy Scout, Home School or other group!
