For over 15 years, Porch Light has produced hundreds of original and scripted works and educated thousands of students throughout the NJ and NYC area.
Our unique teaching methods focus on BUILDING CHARACTERS - creating confident and passionate young artists through performing arts training and one-of-a-kind experiences. We believe performing arts education is a powerful tool for buiding self-esteem, encouraging collaboration and creating the next generation of leaders.
Our educational theatre programs are designed to help students develop their creative and critical thinking skills. Through a wide range or programs, Porch Light offers something for all backgrounds and experience levels including studio classes, performance-based programs, private lessons, workshops, in-school programs, our award-winning Youth Performance Troupe (YPT) and more.
Porch Light, Studio, Stage & Schools is one of the region's leading performing arts schools and we are continuing to grow our membership community! In addition to our Glen Rock studio and stage, we are proud to announce the opening of our Cedar Grove location in 2023.
Porch Light was original founded with the goal of "Leaving the Light On" for artists of all ages. Today, our focus is on building characters through performing arts education, yet our original design still holds true.
Growing up, I can remember playing outside with my friends for hours without end. As day became night, neighboring porch lights would illuminate the night sky, allowing us to play just a little bit longer. The porch light let us know we were safe and that there was always someone there if we wanted to go home. Porch Light Productions was named for this very idea. Porch Light Productions provides an environment where artists of all ages are welcome to explore and experience the many aspects of theatre. Porch Light focuses on the production of original and scripted works while also providing instructional classes, seminars, and workshops.
