Through the rehearsal and performance process, students gain confidence, make lasting friendships, and discover that good character can be the sweetest reward of all -- perfectly reflecting Porch Light’s mission of #BuildingCharacters both on and off the stage. Please note: Due to unexpected licensing restrictions, we’ve had to make a change to the show title we originally announced, but we’re excited about what’s taking its place! Charlie and the Chocolate Factory JR. is a newly released production, and this will be the very first time Porch Light brings it to our stage. We can’t wait for our Academy Mini students to be the first Porch Light cast to step into this wonderfully imaginative world and make it their own!
Welcome to Academy Mini, where our youngest stars in grades K-2 embark on a fun-filled journey into the world of theatre! Designed to introduce budding performers to the joys of creativity and expression, Academy Mini focuses on building foundational skills while emphasizing a theme of adventure and discovery. In Academy Mini, children explore the basics of acting, singing, and movement through exciting games, imaginative play, and storytelling exercises. They'll bring beloved characters to life, learn catchy songs, and explore simple choreography in a supportive and playful environment. Through interactive workshops and rehearsals, students develop confidence, teamwork, and a love for performing arts. Join us for a season where every child's unique talents shine brightly on stage.
