Porch Light Wins 2 Perry Awards for Excellence in Theatre

Porch Light Productions was honored with two Perry Awards by the New Jersey Association of Community Theatre (NJACT). Awards were handed out at NJACT's 41st Anniversary gala attended by several hundred members of New Jersey theatre community on Sunday, September September 21.

Of their ten nominations, Porch Light took home top honors for Outstanding Youth Actor in a Musical (Matt Mucha, Next to Normal) and Outstanding Production of an Original Musical (Ryan Pifher, Jenn Pifher & Jon Provan, Stage Fright: An Original Halloween Musical). Other nominations included Outstanding Production of a Play (5 Women Wearing the Same Dress), Outstanding Youth Actor in a Play, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical, Outstanding Lighting Design of a Musical, Outstanding Youth Actress in a Play (2 nominations), Outstanding Youth Actress in a Musical and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Musical.

Stage Fright is has been produced annually at Porch Light for the past five years and has been nominated in the same category for previous years. This is the first award for the original show written by Ryan Pifher, with music by Jon Provan, additional original music by Tristian Luysterburg and produced by Jenn Pifher & Ryan Pifher. The production features a youth ensemble and tells the story of a group of trick-or-treaters that are captured by monsters on Halloween night. Stage Fright will take the stage again this fall, with performances on October 24 through 26. Ticket are $15 for all seats and are currently on sale.
