About the Show
Coming Of Age is a theatrical song cycle - a collection of short stories about growing up. Each member of the dynamic ensemble cast -- Girl, Boy, Young Woman, Young Man, Woman and Man - plays multiple roles, spanning the globe and the whole of human history. They are rebels, warriors, dreamers and innocents, confronting life and leaping into the unknown. A rock-infused contemporary score, evocative lyrics and inventive staging join forces to chronicle the joys and fears of becoming yourself.

The NYMF cast includes Katy Blake (Evita, Phantom - Nat. tour), Maya Brettell (Beaches, the Musical - Signature), Ethan Haberfield (Mary Poppins - B'way), Ryan Jesse (Jersey Boys - B'way) Joe Paparella (Les Mis, Jesus...Superstar - B'way) and Susanna Rizzo (Warsaw = pre B'way workshop).

The production team is comprised of: Eric Harriz (scenic design), Nancy Reynolds (costume design), Zach Pizza (lighting design), Maureen Glennon (choreography) and Tim Love (production stage manager).

A workshop of the new musical was staged at Porch Light in December 2013, and featured Lucas Turner, Samantha Matthews, Jack Whyte, Cressida Adler, Maddie Basirico and Kieran Power, all regulars to the Porch Light stage.

The NYMF production will be directed by Ryan Pifher (PLP's Artistic Director), and produced by Provan and Jenn Pifher (PLP's Managing Director).

A fundraising campaign is currently underway to raise $40K needed for the New York premiere. Donations can be made at www.gofundme.com/comingofage. Please join the Porch Light family in supporting this fantastic piece of theatre!
