posted 09/02/11

(September 2 - Glen Rock, NJ) - Porch Light Theatre in Glen Rock will open its 2011/12 Season with the Pulitzer Prize winning play 'Dinner With Friends,' September 23 - October 9. Performances are Fridays & Saturdays at 8PM and Sunday at 2PM.

Written by Donald Margulies, 'Dinner with Friends' is a funny, yet bittersweet portrayal of the effects of one couple's looming divorce on the lives of their married friends. When Gabe and Karen learn that their best friends Tom and Beth are splitting up due to Tom's infidelity, they first feel compelled to choose sides, but soon begin to question the strength of their own seemingly tranquil marriage. 'Dinner' is an intimate reflection on contemporary relationships, leaving audiences lingering long after they have left the theatre.

'Dinner' runs for 9 performances and is directed by Perry Award nominated director Ryan Pifher (Ridgewood). The production stars Lauryn Hamel, Daniel Phai, Nicole Davis and Alan Best of NYC. 'Dinner' is one of Porch Light's three Main Stage productions this season to be followed by 'The Goodbye Girl' (February) and 'The Wedding Singer' (May).
